Introduce basic decision making techniques of use in agribusiness.
OBJECTIVES
Students should be able to:
- Critically appraise the use of decision analysis (DA) techniques in business.
- Select and apply appropriate DA techniques to selected decision problems
- Appreciate the significance of attitude to risk in business decision making.
- Effectively communicate DA outcomes to decision makers.

- Exchange of decision making experiences.
- Paper case study 1 - The manager's problem.
- Paper case study 2 - Dealing with variability.
- Paper case study 3 - Dealing with risk.
- 5Communication checklist.
- Application exercises/discussion.
METHODS OF ASSESSMENT
Course work assessment: activity – 50%, assignment – 50% (home work for students: Individual paper/presentation for the assessment).
Exam/Course work weighting: 40%/60%
